Some Time Has Passed, and Life Has Changed.

Well it is now over mid way through the fall semester, where as the last time I posted it was the very start of the summer semester. I have been making wonderful friends, along with staying in my typical Becca style, keeping busy. I am in the Air Force ROTC here at Baylor. We marched last weekend in the Baylor Homecoming parade which is the largest collegiate homecoming parade in the nation. It was a great time.

As you can tell I am having a blast with AFROTC! I am also keeping busy between school, work and everything else, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am also a canidate for the Arnold's Air Society and working hard on that. I will post again soon, but time to get back to more homework.

Grad Nigh Pics

Well we made it...almost

We are currently here in Austin, Texas, about an hour an a half from Waco. We have had a wonderful time so far. We have had many adventures thus far, even a tow truck driver telling us some of the stupidest people he has ever met are from California. 13 hours of driving the first day (Rancho-El Paso). Then after our stops and minor car issue in Fort Stockton Tx the next day it was about 11.5 hours (El Paso- San Antonio). Waking up on Saturday in San Antonio we spent the morning going to the Alamo and River walk enjoying what the city had to offer.

After that we headed on up to Austin where we checked into the hotel and walked along the famous 6th street.

July 4th we were here in Austin as well and we attended a church service here then went to finally see Toy Story 3. It made me laugh at how much it truly was like my life right now, and how Mrs. Potato Head reminded me of Grandma Soto. Then we headed back to the hotel for a nap. We then drove up the the capitol building and watched fireworks over the river, it was beautiful.

Well tomorrow we head up to Waco to browse around, then move in on Tues and school starts Wed.!

Last So. Cal. Day

Well July 1, it is here. We are set to leave the house at 6:15 a.m. to head out to El Paso. This last day has been full of emotion mostly masked by packing. I picked up my best friend Geoff and he ran some errands with me. We stopped for a shake one last time and enjoyed the moments. Geoff's girlfriend and my good friend Carli came over as soon as we returned to the house. Others came by to say good bye to me. Then my "little sister" Kat came by and we all hung out and talked in my room as I packed it away into boxes. Well that is all for now. I will try and update this with pics when I can. Here is what we will be up to the next few days!

July 1: Alta Loma - El Paso 877 miles
July 2: El Paso- San Antonio 585 miles
July 3: Spend the day in El Paso (the Alamo etc) then onto Austin
July 4: Spend the day in Austin
July 5: Drive to Waco and check out the city and campus
July 6: Orientation at Baylor
July 7: Classes start (8am (a.k.a 6 a.m. cali time) and drive mom back to Austin to catch her plane

The Adult World

So obviously what I stated in my last post has not come true. However since then I have turned 18 and graduated high school. I have yet to really believe that I am actually done with high school. I also purchased a new car. I really don't think that it will all hit me until I move and start driving to Waco on July 1st. As I am sitting here my mom and I are discussing our road trip. We leave the 1st and drive to El Paso. The morning of the 2nd we wake up and drive to San Antonio for the night. The 3rd we tour around San Antonio and leave for Austin and stay there for the 4th of July and head to Waco the morning of the 5th. We are going to take a day to get to know Waco and then on the 6th is orientation and mom will probably meet with one of the Captains in the Air Force ROTC to meet with them and learn more about the program. We also have a welcome dinner on the 6th at Baylor. The 7th is the start of my college life, after classes I will be driving my mom down to Austin to fly home. I will be updating more as time goes on. In the mean time enjoy some pics from my b-day at the BI, graduation and grad night soon to follow!
