Home from Honduras

So I'm back home! Every thing went smoothly until the flight home but it was only a minor delay in Houston due to a thunderstorm we were delayed almost 3 hours, but no big deal! The trip to Honduras was a HUGE success and we got done what we were set out to accomplish. We left on a flight out of Ontario at 1 am on the 7th to Houston for a few hours and then we flew to
San Pedro Sula in Honduras. We got a quick bite to eat then off up the mountain roads toward Yoro, Yoro, Honduras. We got there and unpacked then at some dinner then off to bed to get ready for the next day of work. When we arrived to the future site of the church in Aguatilla (about a half-n-hour out of Yoro on a dirt road) on Sunday the 8th all that was their was the trench around where the foundation and walls would go. So the first day was spent leveling the ground, making re-bar, unloading brick and sifting dirt. The second day (Monday the 9th) was the start of building the walls so it consist of block lines to get the blocks right where they needed to be and ready to be used, mixing cement by shovels, and laying the brick. We got about half done with the walls on Monday. Tuesday was Finishing up the Walls and also that after noon we put on VBS for the kids. We started on this first day with about 50 kids at VBS (which increased each day)The next day was more blocks and starting to get the
rafters for the roof painted with another day of VBS. Thursday was the last day of VBS and putting in the cement columns and the roof rafters. Fri. we put up all the roofing, we all had lunch at different houses, then played a little soccer game against the local team. Sat. All we had left was to cement the floor and we got done by 11:30! So we had a church service and it started
poring rain on us and it was actually quite amazing. Our good-byes were the hardest I was ok untill this little boy by the name of Moses started screaming and crying and wouldn't let go of me then I started crying...(I'm still trying to figure out a way to bring him back ).This is Moses

The2nd to last day was spent driving to Tela and the last spent on some much needed R&R in
Tela. The trip was a blast and so amazing how to see even more how God works. The kids got so much joy out of so little and it was so nice to see that!

Thank you to all that prayed for us while we were gone and for your donations.

Leaving

In 48 hours I will be getting on the plane here in Ontario to fly to Honduras, well actually to Houston then on to Honduras. I can't believe how quick this has gone by. It seems like just the other day when I went to the first meeting to get info on the trip and now its almost here. WOOT! WOOT! I'm happy, scared, ecstatic, nervous and a bunch of other emotions all mixed into one. I mean I can't wait to experience something totally different and new for me. But at the same time thats 10 days without my family, in an unknown country. It how ever is going to be AMAZING. I just have to remember God says to fear not for he is with me. Just pray all goes well with the church we build, the VBS we do for the kids, our families back at home, health and safe travels with no glitches for us. Also pray that we stay free from any injury (esp. me and my knee this is one thing that is worrying me because of having problems less than a year ago.) If I can I will try and update this at lest once or twice while I am there but won't promise anything.
